Standlee Premium Western Forage Alfalfa Chopped Forage is uniformly chopped alfalfa hay, which is easier to chew and digest for horses with dental issues, lightly sprayed with canola oil for added nutritional benefit. Added oil minimizes fines and fractures and increases Omega-3 and 6 fatty acids.

BENEFITS OF ALFALFA CHOPPED

Standlee Premium Western Forage Alfalfa Chopped is an ideal feed for senior horses. Its soft texture makes it easy on aging teeth and gums, while its fiber content promotes gut health and efficient nutrient absorption. Enriched with essential fatty acids, it helps maintain joint flexibility, healthy skin, and a glossy coat. Overall, Alfalfa Chopped hay is a reliable choice for enhancing the quality of life for senior horses.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR FEEDING

Forage is the most important component of a horse's diet and should be fed at a rate of 1.5-2.5% of a horse's body weight. Gradually replace existing hay with Standlee over a seven to fourteen (7-14) day period.

Chopped Forage is a high-quality forage that has been cut into approximately 2-4" pieces. If chopped forage is utilized as the sole forage source, feed at a rate of 1.5-2% of a horse's body weight per day. Chopped hay is designed to allow for an easy transition; however, to minimize digestive upset, we recommend gradually replacing existing hay with the same weight of Standlee forage over a seven to fourteen (7-14) day period to help your animal's digestive system.

SUPPLEMENTING HAY WITH STANDLEE FORAGE

For consistent, optimal nutrition we recommend feeding 100% Standlee forage. However, you can supplement current hay for enhanced nutrition.
